What it's about
The New Zealand Youth Symphonic Winds is the premiere National Concert Band of New Zealand. It is the youth band of the New Zealand Concert Bands Association.
The New Zealand Youth Symphonic Winds aims to empower youth music making, and is centred around four core ideas;
1. To provide members with opportunities to both connect and perform with other high level performers.
2. To create an environment that fosters musical growth.
3. To develop and empower the next generation of musicians.
4. To strengthen the connection between us and our communities.
Coming from a smaller town, being in the NZYSW was an opportunity to see a wider world of music at a higher level, and the experience was everything I wanted it to be and more.
Excitement? Yes. Anxiety? Definitely. Regret? Not a chance! You will forever have my thanks NZYSW. My thanks and my heart.
